Route overview

Exploring the Arctic Fjords: A Motorhome Adventure from Evenes

Setting out from Evenes in our rented motorhome, we embarked on an unforgettable RV road trip through the dramatic fjords of northern Norway. Our road trip planning took us along winding coastal roads, past towering peaks, and into landscapes where nature and history blend seamlessly.

One of our first major stops was Polar Park, a must-visit for families. Here, we got up close with Arctic wildlife, including wolves, lynxes, and bears. It's a fantastic experience for children and adults alike, offering a rare glimpse into Norway’s untamed wilderness.

Next, we headed to the breathtaking Sir Henri’s Waterfall, a hidden gem nestled within the rugged mountains. The sound of cascading water and the fresh mountain air made it a perfect stop for a peaceful break and some stunning photographs.

Our route then took us to Andøy Friluftssenter, where we immersed ourselves in Norway’s coastal beauty. The center offers incredible hiking opportunities and the chance to experience the serene Arctic landscapes up close. From there, we joined an Arctic Whale Tours excursion, an absolute highlight of our trip. Watching majestic whales breach the icy waters was an experience we will never forget.

For a taste of history, the Lofotr Viking Museum transported us back in time to the Viking Age. Walking through the reconstructed longhouse and learning about Viking traditions made this a fascinating cultural stop. Meanwhile, Lofoten Arctic Adventures provided us with an exhilarating experience—whether it was a scenic boat tour or an outdoor adventure, the raw beauty of the Lofoten Islands was on full display.

Before wrapping up our journey, we took a relaxing break at Nordlandsbadet, a family-friendly aquatic center where the kids enjoyed the water slides while we unwound in the heated pools. Finally, we marveled at the power of Narvik Geyser, a natural wonder that capped off our trip with a unique geological spectacle.

Throughout our campervan journey, we had the freedom to travel at our own pace, stopping whenever we wanted to soak in the views or enjoy a local meal. With a well-thought-out Norway camper route planner, our motorhome road trip was a seamless blend of adventure, history, and relaxation—a perfect family-friendly escape into the heart of Norway’s fjords.
