Nashville to Austin

Nashville to Austin

As we loaded up our motorhome and hit the road from Nashville, we were excited for the adventure ahead. Our first stop was the iconic recording room of Elvis Presley, where we got a glimpse of the King's creative process and recorded our own tunes. From there, we visited the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, learning about the legends who paved the way for country music.

We then took a break from the city and explored the tranquil Cypress Grove Nature Park, where we spotted all kinds of wildlife and took a peaceful stroll along the trails. After getting back into the city, we had a delicious meal at The Arcade Restaurant, a classic diner that's been around since 1919.

Next, we made our way to Graceland, the home of Elvis Presley and a must-see attraction for any music fan. We marveled at the opulence of the estate, checked out the impressive car collection at the Automobile Museum, and took a guided tour of Sun Studio, where some of the most iconic musicians in history have recorded.

As we left Memphis, we enjoyed a scenic boat ride along the Mississippi River on the Memphis Riverboats. The views of the city skyline were stunning, and we learned about the river's significance to the region. We then spent a fun-filled day at the Memphis Zoo, getting up close and personal with all kinds of animals.

Our next stop was the Highway 61 Blues Museum, where we learned about the history of the blues and how it shaped American music. We also took a horse-drawn carriage tour of the charming town of Natchez, visiting the Grand Village of the Natchez Indians to learn about the area's indigenous culture.

Continuing our journey, we cooled off at the Blue Bayou Water Park, enjoying thrilling water slides and lazy river rides. We then did some shopping at Tanger Outlets Gonzales before visiting the breathtaking Oak Alley Plantation, where we toured the historic mansion and walked among the magnificent oak trees.

In New Orleans, we took in the wonders of the Audubon Aquarium of the Americas, and explored the vibrant French Market Corporation, where we picked up souvenirs and enjoyed local cuisine. We then traveled back in time at the Vermilionville Historic Village, where we learned about the Acadian, Native American, and Creole cultures that make up Louisiana's rich history.

As we made our way to Houston, we indulged in some Cajun cuisine at the Bon Temps Grill and explored the natural beauty of Sam Houston Jones State Park and Cattail Marsh Scenic Wetlands & Boardwalk. We also visited the awe-inspiring Space Center Houston, where we learned about the history of space exploration and even got to see actual spacecraft up close.

Our final stop was in Austin, where we enjoyed a relaxing kayak tour with Lone Star Kayak Tours, taking in the natural beauty of Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center and cooling off at Barton Springs Municipal Pool. As our journey came to a close, we reflected on all the amazing experiences we had on the road, and couldn't wait for our next motorhome adventure.
