Driver’s Licence and Minimum Age
A valid, non-provisional, state or overseas driver’s licence is required. If the driver’s licence is not in the English language (e.g. German, French, Chinese, etc) then an international driver’s licence is also required. For travel in the Northern Territory, an International Driving Permit is required along with the foreign driver licence. We do not accept Digital Driver licences.
Note: UK driver licences that have had approved extensions by the UK DVLA (Driver and Vehicle Licencing Agency) can still travel for up to 11 months past the licence expiry. This extension only applies to full GB driving licence holders. It does not apply to provisional driving licence entitlement.
The driver’s licence must have been held for at least two years and be valid for the whole length of the rental. The original driver’s licence must be shown at time of pick-up when the driver is present.
The minimum age to drive the vehicle is 21 years.


Booking Amendments
If you wish to make any changes to your booking (including voluntary downgrade) the booking will be calculated by using either the original flex rate or the flex rate that is valid at the time of the booking change, depending on whichever rate is higher. There are no exceptions to this rule. The following situations are classified as booking alterations: 
- Change of name
- Change to pick-up or drop-off  dates
- Change pick-up or drop-off branch location
- Change of RV category
- Change of rate scheme including special rates
If the rate scheme or RV category is changed, this is considered a new booking and cancellation fees may apply to the original booking.

If an amendment is made to the rental dates within 14 days of collection, no refund will be made if the length of hire is shortened (that is; the rental will be charged at the number of days originally booked). A relocation fee may apply if the collection or return location is amended within 14 days of vehicle pick up or if notification occurs during the hire.
Any change is for extra charge.
If cancelled on day of pick-up or no show - 100% of rental including any applicable fees e.g. One Way.


Multiple Rentals
Consecutive Apollo Motorhome/Campervan rentals can be combined to qualify for a long-term discount rate. Rentals in Australia, New Zealand, Germany, the United Kingdom and Ireland on Star RV, Apollo, Cheapa Campa and Hippie Camper can be combined to obtain a long-term discount rate, providing travel is within a 3 month period. If drop off of a vehicle and pick up of a new vehicle occurs on the same day then a day each will be charged per respective vehicle. Multiple rentals are treated as separate rentals under the one way fee and minimum rental period conditions. This discount does not apply to completed bookings.


Change of Drop Off Destination
If the renter wishes to change the drop off destination after the rental has commenced, they first must obtain authorisation from the Apollo Reservations. Subject to the change being approved, a minimum additional charge of AU$750 will apply.


Rental Extension
If the guest wishes to extend the rental whilst on hire, they must first obtain authorisation from Apollo Reservations who will advise of the additional costs. Rental extension is subject to fleet availability. The extra cost (calculated on the current rate of the day) of an extended rental must be paid by credit card over the telephone or at an Apollo Branch immediately on confirmation of the rental extension.
Failure to obtain authorisation will result in the renter being charged double the daily gross rental rate.


Change Of Vehicle
Should the vehicle booked be unavailable through unforeseen circumstances, we reserve the right to substitute an alternative vehicle without prior notification and at no extra cost. This shall not constitute a breach of contract and does not entitle the renter to a refund.


Vehicle Category
Vehicles cannot be requested by make or model, only by vehicle category.


Voluntary Downgrade
Should the renter decide to take a lesser vehicle than booked within 14 days of pick up or during the rental then they will not be entitled to any refund.

Online Check-In
It is mandatory for guests to complete Apollo’s online check-in prior to pick up at: https://preregistration.apollocamper.com/
By completing the required pick-up information ahead of the pick-up date, guests will experience a smoother and quicker RV collection process. Guests will also be required to watch our Apollo safe driving video prior to pick up, and can access our ‘How To Videos’ through the Apollo Connect App prior to pick up to learn how to use their RV.


Vehicles must be collected and returned to our branches (not airports). Transfers to and from the Apollo depot are not included in the rental price. It is the renter’s responsibility to get to and from the branch.


Branch Locations
Apollo has motorhome branches in Adelaide, Alice Springs, Brisbane, Broome, Cairns, Darwin and Perth.

Vehicle availability in certain locations is subject to change.


Broome Rentals
• An additional charge of AU$750 applies to all rentals picking up or dropping off in Broome.
• This is in addition to the one way fee if applicable.
• Drop & Go service is not available for drop off in Broome.


Branch Hours
All branches are closed Christmas Day, New Years Day, Good Friday and Australia Day Public Holiday.
• All locations: 9am to 4pm - 7 days a week.
• Alice Springs & Darwin:
- Closed between 20 December to 31 March.
• Broome:
- Closed between 1 November to 31 March
- Closed on Sundays all year.
• After hours drop offs available outside of these times - we will provide a lock box service on request for those needing to return outside of standard hours.


RV Introduction and Show Through
On pick-up, our staff provide guests with a thorough RV show through with all the necessary information guests need to know about the interior and exterior features of their RV. This ensures guests are comfortable and confident with their RV before they start their road trip. To ensure guests have a thorough RV show through before starting their road trip, they will need to pick up their RV from the branch by 4pm.


Rental Duration
The minimum rental for all vehicles is five days when pick up and drop off is from the same branch location.
A 7 day minimum rental period applies during the period of Bathurst Motor Race, from Melbourne or Sydney.
A 7 day minimum rental period applies during the period of Phillip Island Race, from Melbourne or Sydney.
A 10 day minimum rental period applies during the period of 8 to 25 April 2022 - for all vehicles.
A 14 day minimum rental period applies during the period of 18 December 2022 to 2 January 2023 - for all vehicles.
A 10 day minimum rental period applies during the period of 6 to 26 April 2023 - for all vehicles.
A compulsory cleaning fee of AU
$75 will aplly for rentals 5 days or less.


One Way Rentals


A one way rental has a minimum rental period of at least seven days. One way rentals are available subject to the minimum rental periods in the above table. A one way rental fee of AU$165 is charged for all one way rentals.


Travel Restrictions
Our 4WD RVs are ready to take adventurous travellers off the beaten track, however for the safety of our guests there are areas from which our vehicles are restricted and/or require written permission from Apollo prior to travel. These include:
Restricted (Written Permission Required)

General: Any Islands, Simpson Desert, Any remote unsealed roads (not listed below).
Queensland: Burke Development Road from Chillagoe to Normanton, Cape York (North of Laura/Cooktown), Savannah Way (Normanton to Borroloola), Bloomfield track, Sandover Highway, Frenchman Track, Starcke Track.
South Australia: Oodnadatta Track, Strzelecki Track, Birdsville Track.
Tasmania: Tasmania
Western Australia: Bungle Bungles, Gibb River Road, Kalumburu Road, Mitchell Falls/Plateau, Tanami Track, Warburton, Fairfield-Leopold's Downs Roads (Tunnel Creek), Gunbarrel Highway.
Northern Territory: Arnhem Land, Larapinta Road between Hermannsburg and Petermann Plenty Highway, Savannah Way, Normanton to Borroloola, Finke Road (between Alice Springs and Oodnadatta Track), Tanami Track, Sandover Highway, Jim Jim Falls and Twin Falls.
Not permitted at all times
General: Any beaches.
Queensland: Fraser Island, Moreton IslandOld Telegraph Road section of the road to Cape York, CREB Track, Cape York (between 1 December - 31 May)

Western Australia: Old Gunbarrel Highway, Canning Stock Route.
Northern Territory: Boggy Hole (Finke Gorge National Park), Central Arnhem Road (past Barunga), The Lost City in Litchfield Park, the Old South Road from Maryvale to Finke.
Not permitted 1 December to 31 May

Apollo reserves the right at its sole discretion to restrict vehicle movements in certain areas due to adverse road or weather conditions, and the distance to nominated destinations in relation to the length of the rental period.

Guests who travel to restricted areas without permission will void all liability cover in the event of damage or accident, and may be subject to a penalty fee of AU$300 charged on each occasion identified.


Our 4WD rates include 300 kilometres per day however should a little more adventure be needed, 500 kilometre packages are available before or at time of pick-up for
AU$188. If the distance travelled is a little longer, any excess kilometres will be charged at AU$0.40 per kilometre payable on return.


Vehicle Condition and Return
1. You acknowledge that:
(a) the Vehicle was delivered to You by Apollo in good operating condition and You agree to return the Vehicle without alteration or addition and in the same condition, except for ordinary wear and tear (not including windscreen or tyre damage) together with all tools, tyres, accessories and equipment to the Return Location on the Return Date specified in Rental Vehicle Agreement Part A;
(b) the Vehicle is the sole property of Apollo;
(c) You inspected the Vehicle at the Commencement of the Rental and ascertained that it was in good operating condition and fit for the purpose for which You required it and that no representations about the Vehicle's condition were made to You by Apollo, its employees or agents; and
(d) the only existing damage to the Vehicle at the commencement of this Agreement is that detailed on the Vehicle Condition Report. It is essential that all existing damage is noted by You on the Vehicle Condition Report. Any damage which has not been noted on the Vehicle Condition Report will constitute Loss or Damage which has occurred subsequent to the commencement of this Agreement for which You shall be charged.
2. Apollo will take possession of the Vehicle without prior demand to You, and at Your expense, if there has been a Substantial Breach of this Agreement. In such circumstances You irrevocably authorise Apollo, its employees and agents to enter any property where the Vehicle is situated and You indemnify Apollo, its employees and agents from claims by any person resulting from such entry and retaking of the Vehicle.
3. If the odometer is deliberately broken or otherwise tampered with, You will be responsible for not only an extra charge based on 500 kilometres per day at
AU$0.50 per kilometre, but also for any costs of repairing or replacing the odometer.
4. If You fail to return the Vehicle to the Return Location or return the Vehicle to a different location to the Return Location, You will be charged for all costs associated with transporting or towing the Vehicle to the Return Location plus a minimum of
AU$750 relocation charge.
5. If You return the Vehicle after the Return Time without the permission of Apollo, You will be charged for the late return at a rate equivalent to double the daily standard gross rental charge for the Vehicle, plus the daily rate charge applicable to Your chosen Reduction Option.
6. If You attempt to return the Vehicle to the Return Location and it is not open for business at the time You return the Vehicle:
(a) the Vehicle will be deemed to have been returned at the time when that Return Location next opens for business;
(b) the rental continues until that time; and
(c) You remain fully responsible for the Vehicle, unless other arrangements have been agreed to in writing by Apollo. You will also be charged the late fee.
7. The Vehicle must be returned with the amount of fuel equal to that at the time of the rental. If the Vehicle is returned with less fuel the difference will be charged to You at a rate of
AU$5 including GST per litre (which includes a service component).
8. You must only use the fuel type specified by the manufacturer of the Vehicle.
9. Use of bio-diesel, ethanol or any organic hybrid fuel is strictly considered the wrong fuel type and constitutes a Substantial Breach of this Agreement. Any Loss or Damage to the Vehicle or any costs associated with the use of the wrong fuel, including contaminated fuel, are at Your sole expense.


Vehicle Condition
Vehicles must be returned with the interior cleaned and holding tanks emptied. The vehicles exterior does not require cleaning unless it is difficult to ascertain the condition of the vehicle on return. AU$200 Fees will apply if the vehicle is not returned in the required condition.


Drop and Go Service
All vehicles are to be returned with all surfaces wiped down (kitchen, floors, cupboard, tables, toilet & shower cubicle, windows etc.), fridge cleaned and emptied, rubbish removed, excessively dirty exteriors cleaned and beds converted back to dinettes. Should guests be on a tight schedule we can do this for them for
AU$75 – purchased at pick up. You simply need to Empty the grey water and toilet cassette, put away the clean dishes and return the vehicle neat and tidy to our Apollo team. The Apollo team will do the rest: Clean the kitchen and appliances, clear and clean the fridge, clean all cupboards and benches, clean the bathroom, clean the driving cabin and dispose of your last days' garbage. Garbage must be bagged. Excessive dirt/mud inside or outside the vehicle will incur additional charges.


We understand that while on holiday the RV may require small repairs. So not to disrupt the road trip any further, if the damage was not caused by the guest, repairs up to
AU$100 can be completed without authorisation and will be reimbursed. If repairs over AU$100 are needed, the Apollo Assist team should be informed prior to repair being completed. All RVs are enrolled in the Australian Automobile Association and 24hr mechanical emergency roadside assistance is available if needed, simply contact Apollo Assist at 1300 798 212.


Infringements, Tolls and Fines
Apollo will pass on any charges the guest receives for traffic infringements, toll or parking fines during their road trip For Toll Way Fees received, Apollo reserves the right to charge to the guest’s credit or debit card upon receiving the toll way fee, and an administration fee of AU$75 to cover associated administrative costs per toll way fee received.

Apollo offers guests the option of purchasing our Toll Package for AU$39 which gives guests a AU$50 ‘toll credit’. When travelling through toll ways the credit will be used up to the value of AU$50. Once AU$50 is exceeded, another toll package of AU$39 will be automatically charged to the guest’s credit card. (a .75c registration matching fee applies within the AU$50 credit). 


Both - Service dogs and pet dogs are allowed to travel in our RVs with written permission from Apollo at time of booking. There is a AU$200 pet service fee, this excludes service animals. If a vehicle is returned soiled by a pet Apollo reserves the right to charge an extra cleaning fee.


Smoking and drugs are not allowed in our vehicles. If smoke or drug residue is detected Apollo reserves the right to charge a cleaning fee.

Payment at branches
For security reasons, Apollo will only accept credit card or debit card for rental charges paid on vehicle pick up or drop off. Cash payments will not be accepted at rental branches. The Bond on the vehicle is only payable at pick-up by Credit Card or Debit Credit Card. The Bond cannot be paid with a pre-paid Credit Card.

Credit Cards
We only accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Diners Club. Visa and MasterCard will incur a 2.18% surcharge on any transaction (1.52% from April 2022). American Express and Diners Club will incur a 2.8% surcharge on any transaction. 

Exchange Rate / Currency Variations
All credit card transactions are conducted in Australian dollars. Due to exchange rate fluctuations there could be some variance in the amount refunded compared to the amount initially charged. We do not accept any liability for variances up or down. Refunds by credit card can take up to 14 working days depending on the renter’s Financial Institution.

Value Pack:
Add AU$60 per night.

- The minimum amount payable per rental segment for a Value Pack will be based on the minimum rental period applicable for your rental.
- The maximum amount payable per rental segment for the Value Pack is AU$3,000 – i.e. 50 nights rental. 

The Value Pack includes: VIP Cover ('The High Road'), Pre-purchased Gas Bottle, Camp Chairs and Table and Baby or Booster Seats (on request).

Pre-purchased Gas Bottle (Included in the Value Pack)
A full gas bottle(s) needs to be pre-purchased and can be returned empty to Apollo at the completion of the road trip: AU$25


Ferry Reservations
Ferry reservations can be difficult to manage during high season. We recommend that a reservation is made for a 7.7m vehicle on the ferry, irrespective as to the size of the motorhome reserved, to avoid complications due to possible upgrades.


Limit of Liability
In the event of no alternative vehicle being available to the renter our liability is limited to a refund of the hire charge or in the case of mechanical failure (unless caused by the renter) the remainder of the hire period.


We reserve the right to refuse any rental at our discretion.

Personal Injury
The RV has third party insurance cover and It is likely that any other vehicle involved in an accident also has third party insurance. Depending on the circumstances of the accident, the renter may be entitled to claim for their personal injury against the third party insurance of the party responsible for the accident. The extent of such third party insurance varies in different States and Territories and Apollo strongly recommends that all passengers take out their own Personal Injury Travel Insurance.

Property Damage
The RV is insured for damage to it or damage to the property of a third party. However the guest is responsible up to the amount of the applicable Liability for damage to third party property, or to the RV. The guest is also responsible for the cost of the daily rate for the period the vehicle is being repaired. There is no refund for unused portion of the rental period. The Liability applies to each claim, not RV.
The Liability is applicable regardless of who is at fault and must be paid at the time the accident is reported to Apollo, not at the completion of the rental Period. Apollo reserves the right to charge the renter for any vehicle damage including Third Party property damage not reported on return of the RV.

Standard Liability - 'The Low Road'
Apollo’s rental charge includes a Standard Liability of AU$8,000.

A Bond of AU$8,000 will be collected at the time of entering into the Rental Contract. Payment of this Bond is only accepted by credit card. The AU$8,000 will be debited to the credit card account immediately. An administration fee equal to the merchant surcharge applies.

The Standard Liability can be reduced by purchasing one of the following Reduction Options:

Reduction Option 1 - 'The Middle Road'
A Liability of AU$2,500 applies. This Option can be purchased by paying to Apollo AU$41 per day. The maximum amount payable for this Option per rental is AU$2,050 – i.e. 50 days rental.
This Bond is payable to Apollo by an open signed credit card imprint with an authorisation obtained (sufficient funds must be available) for AU$2,500. An administration fee equal to the merchant surcharge applies.

Reduction Option 2 - 'The High Road' (Included in the Value Pack)
A AU$500 Liability applies (Except for exclusions). This Option can be purchased by paying to Apollo AU$47 per day. The maximum amount payable for this Option per rental is AU$ 2,350 – i.e. 50 days rental.
Under this option one windscreen and two tyres will be covered for accidental damage. Should these amounts be exceeded the cost to repair or replace the items will not be covered and will be the responsibility of the renter.
A Bond of AU$500 will be collected at the time of entering into the Rental Contract. This Bond is payable to Apollo by an open signed credit card imprint with an authorisation obtained (sufficient funds must be available) for AU$500.

Single Vehicle Rollover (included in the Value Pack)
This Option can be purchased by paying to Apollo AU$5.5 per day. Minimum AU$50 per rental. Available to be booked only when Value Pack is purchased.

4WD Additional Cover:
This additional cover is available when either Liability Reduction Option 2 ('The High Road)
 or the Value Pack have been purchased.
The cost for this cover is 
Coverage with this offer will protect the renter for:
Accidental damage to the overhead and underbody sections of the 4WD Campervan*
Unlimited tyre and windscreen cover
Damage to the awning
• Damage to the roof top tent
• Unlimited kilometers
• NIL Liability ($AU500 bond)
Towing and vehicle recovery costs from 4WD roads where permission from Apollo to travel on these roads has been granted up to $AU2000 per rental.
Single Vehicle Rollover

* This protection does not cover single vehicle rollover (including accidental damage to overhead and underbody) or bogged RVs.

For security purposes, only a credit/debit card can be used to provide a Bond. With Standard Liability the bond will be debited to the credit card immediately. With Liability Rediction Option 1 ('The Middle Road') or 2 ('The High Road') the Bond is payable to Apollo by an open signed credit card imprint with an authorisation obtained (sufficient funds must be available) for AU$2500/AU$500. The credit card holder must pre present and able to sign for the Bond upon vehicle collection. The credit card holder is jointly and severally liable for any damage to the rental RV.
The Bond is fully refundable provided terms are met. The RV simply needs to be returned on time and full of fuel and with the toilet cassette and grey water tank emptied to the Apollo branch location booked. Credit card refunds (including Bond refunds) can take up to 14 working days depending on the guest’s financial institution.

If there is damage to the RV on its return or any other terms of the rental contract have not been met, the Bond will be used to cover the cost up to the amount of the relevant Liability. If the terms of the Rental Contract are not met and the Bond is not sufficient enough to cover the damage, extra costs will be charged.
If a guest is continuing on with another Apollo RV booking, the Bond can be transferred to the next booking within Australia.

Full Responsibility
At all times the renter is responsible for: 
• Damage caused where the terms of Rental Contract have not been met by the guest (other than when a third-party damage admits fault and provides full contact and licence details). 
• Damage caused by negligence and/or wilful conduct. 
• Damage caused to the RV in any way by part or total water submersion or salt water.
• Damage caused to tyres and windscreen except where 'Value Pack' or 'WAP' has been purchased and applies.
• Damage caused to the RV when using the RV in contravention of any legislation or regulation controlling vehicular traffic.
• Damage caused due to a single vehicle roll over except where the 'Value Pack', '4WD Additional Cover' or 'Single Vehicle Rollover' has been purchased and applies
• Damage and associated costs with recovery of a bogged vehicle.
• Damage or loss caused to any personal belongings.
• Damage caused due to use of incorrect or contaminated fuel.
• Damage to the slide out of the RV.
• Damage to the undercarriage or overhead of the RV except where the 'Value Pack' has been purchased and applies.
•  Damage to the awning or roof top tent of the Vehicle except where '4wd Additional Cover' had been purchased and applies.
All RVs are equipped with a tracking device. Apollo reserves the right to send warnings to guests that are driving in contradiction to the terms and conditions, or exceeding the speed limits. Guests that continuously ignore the warnings may be subject to a penalty fee of AU$300 charged on each occasion identified.

Extended Roadside Assistance
AU$4 per day capped at 25-days. This includes opening vehicle on lock out, lost key replacement up to AU$120, emergency towing up to 25km, jump start, flat tyre change using spare located in the vehicle, fuel delivery up to 20 litres. 
Non-mechanical issues are not covered and guests may be required to take the RV to a repairer.

Windscreen and Tyre Protection Plus Extended Roadside Assistance
AU$7 per day capped at 25-days. This includes 1 windscreen, 2 tyres, opening vehicle on lock out, lost key replacement up to AU$120, emergency towing up to 25km, jump start, flat tyre change using spare located in the vehicle, fuel delivery up to 20 litres. Non-mechanical issues are not covered and guests may be required to take the RV to a repairer.


General Equipment
Each vehicle is supplied with complimentary general equipment: such as pegs and clothes line, dustpan & brush, fire extinguisher, bucket, hose, broom and personal locator beacon.

Kitchen Kit
Each vehicle is supplied with complimentary kitchen kit: plates, bowls, knives, forks, spoons, bottle opener, can opener, mixing bowls, colander, saucepans, frying pans, cooking utensils, chopping board, kettle, teapot, toaster and tea towel. Electrical appliances are supplied in vehicles that have 240V.

Personal linen Kit
Includes: sheets, blankets, pillows, pillow cases and towels.

Apollo Connect is our custom-built app available for our guests travelling in Australia. The free app provides our guests with all the necessary information needed to make their Apollo journey even better.
The App is designed to:
Enhance guest’s holiday experience by providing ‘how-to videos’ prior to pick up, so that they become familiar with their vehicle before arriving at the branch and prepare any questions they may have.
Educate our guests on how to use the vehicle and on safe driving practics.
