Why rent an RV in Nice?

Nice Côte d'Azur Airport (NCE) serves as the primary international gateway to the French Riviera, making it a convenient and strategic base for a motorhome holiday. An RV rental provides the ultimate freedom to explore this legendary coastline, from the glamour of Cannes and Saint-Tropez to the quiet hilltop villages of Provence. You can craft your own journey, lingering where you love and moving on when you're ready, without being tied to hotel bookings or train schedules. The region's diverse geography means you can wake up to Mediterranean sea views one day and enjoy a mountain vista in the Southern Alps the next.

Hiring a motorhome combines your transportation and accommodation into one, offering an affordable way to experience a high-value destination. You have your own private space, a kitchen for preparing meals with fresh produce from local markets, and the ability to access campsites in stunning natural locations that are often far from traditional tourist hubs. This style of travel encourages a deeper connection with the landscape, whether you're following the scenic coastal Corniche roads or venturing inland to the lavender fields and vineyards that define the South of France. Pricing & deals in Nice

The cost of a motorhome hire in Nice fluctuates based on several key factors, including the time of year, vehicle size, and how far in advance you book. Peak season, from July to August, sees the highest demand and prices, while the shoulder months of May, June, and September offer a great balance of pleasant weather and better value. As a sister company to RV PLANET, Bandana RV uses a dynamic pricing system to ensure you get the best available rate. For a detailed breakdown of costs and strategies for securing an excellent deal, our dedicated pricing guide is the best place to start.

Driving an RV in Nice

Driving a motorhome in and around Nice is an accessible experience, even for first-time RV drivers. The main highways (autoroutes) are wide and well-maintained, though they are subject to tolls. Coastal roads and routes into smaller hilltop villages can be narrow and winding, requiring a slower, more cautious approach. It's always wise to plan your route ahead, paying special attention to any potential height or width restrictions. Remember that a standard car driver's license is all you need for any class of motorhome available for rent. Our guides provide specific advice for navigating the region with confidence. On the routes offered through RV PLANET routes, you can itemize and track every expense along the way for easy budgeting.

Tips for first-time RV renters

Embarking on your first motorhome adventure is exciting, and a little preparation goes a long way. Before you leave the depot, take the time to thoroughly inspect the vehicle and ask the staff to demonstrate how all the systems work, from the water tanks to the electrical hookups. Pack light, using soft-sided bags instead of hard suitcases for easier storage. When on the road, always be mindful of your vehicle's height and length, especially in historic towns and at low bridges. Our essential tips guide covers everything you need to know for a smooth and enjoyable first trip.

Compare suppliers & vehicle classes

Choosing the right motorhome is crucial for a comfortable journey. Vehicles are typically categorized by class. Class B (campervans) are the most compact and easiest to drive, ideal for couples. Class C motorhomes offer a balance of space and maneuverability, with an over-cab bed perfect for families. Class A vehicles are the largest and most luxurious, resembling a bus. Bandana RV, founded in 2001, partners with a curated selection of trusted local and international suppliers. What Our Customers Say

I booked a caravan at the last minute from Bandana, when there were already none to be found. Avi made the effort to locate a suitable caravan for me and succeeded. I bothered him about possibilities for operating the caravan on Shabbat and kashrut, and he answered with understanding and patience. After that we missed the flight, and as someone who observes Shabbat we could barely get there to pick up the caravan in time so I could continue the trip as planned. Avi was considerate and made every effort, to the point that the company in Norway agreed to wait for me until late at night so as not to ruin the travel experience for me. This is my chance to say thank you very much, and well done.

We had a wonderful experience with Bandana Caravans. We received a new motor caravan, even with kitchen equipment we didn't ask for. The caravan was good, although in the first two days it wasn't easy to drive a large vehicle with a manual gearbox, but over time I got used to it and it was an unforgettable experience. For almost three weeks we traveled in Germany, Austria, Slovenia, Croatia, and a bit of Italy. Warmly recommend!!
