Exploring Southern Norway’s Fjords: A Haugesund Motorhome Adventure

Setting off from Haugesund in our rented motorhome, we embark on an incredible round-trip RV journey through the stunning fjords of southern Norway. This campervan road trip is a perfect mix of Viking history, breathtaking nature, and family-friendly fun, making it an unforgettable adventure for all ages.

Our first stop immerses us in the past at The Viking Village on Bukkøy, where we step into the world of Norway’s legendary warriors. From there, a short ferry ride takes us to Røvær, a charming island with a rich maritime history.

Continuing our journey, Bergen’s famous Fishmarket welcomes us with fresh seafood and lively local culture, while the Akvariet i Bergen offers an up-close look at fascinating marine life—always a favorite for families.

As we navigate the Norwegian Scenic Routes, we reach Bondhusdalen, a hidden gem where glacier-fed waters create a truly magical setting for a hike. Langfossen Waterfall, often called one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the world, leaves us in awe as it crashes down the mountainside.

In Ryfylke, we explore the cultural heritage at Kolbeinstveit and Ryfylkemuseet, before taking on the spectacular hike to Preikestolen (Pulpit Rock). The view from the top is simply breathtaking, making every step worth it!

For a scenic drive, the National Tourist Route Ryfylke guides us through picture-perfect landscapes, leading us to Kongeparken, an amusement park that delights kids and adults alike—an exciting way to end our road trip on a high note.

With our campervan as our home on wheels, we enjoy the freedom to explore at our own pace, stopping wherever the scenery calls for a photo or a picnic. Careful road trip planning and a solid route planner ensure a smooth and memorable motorhome journey from Haugesund, full of natural beauty, adventure, and history.
