The Koru Star 2 Freedom is an absolute powerhouse for independent travel, specifically designed to eliminate your reliance on powered campsites.
To ensure a reliable 12V power supply, we have installed a powerful solar system with MPPT control. Combined with a high-capacity lithium battery, this system enables fully self-sufficient travel with unlimited 12V power - while a 240V connection for standard outlets and charging remains available whenever needed.
For colder nights, a powerful 2.2 kW diesel heater delivers reliable warmth using fuel directly from the vehicle’s tank. The variable-speed system adjusts automatically and operates quietly once the set temperature is reached. Natural New Zealand sheep wool insulation in the ceiling and walls supports moisture control and keeps the interior dry and comfortable.

- Prices do NOT include any insurance cover. Choose one option (details on 'Insurance').
- Rental days are calculated per 24 hours - pick up and drop off at the same hour. Late drop-off will be charged as an extra day.
- After-hours vehicle collection/return are not available after 08.00 pm and before 6.30 am.
- Smoking or pets are not allowed on vehicles. NZ$200 fine for infractions.
- A NZ$250 cleaning fee will apply if the camper is returned not reasonably clean.
- A NZ$35 handling fee will be charged for unpaid parking or traffic violations and NZ$20 for toll roads.
- Grey water tank and toilet must be empty before returning the campervan, otherwise NZ$250 for the toilet and NZ$25 for the grey water tank will be charged.
- Vehicle must be returned to the agreed location and time, otherwise NZ$1,500 penalty will apply.

But this time, the vehicle was 5 years old, the air vent above the driver's cab was torn and made noise in the wind while driving — the noise was unbearable. The microwave/oven didn't work, even when connected to 110 V. The vehicle training was rushed and incomplete. The radio was outdated, with the option to listen to CDs but no USB connection, which prevented us from listening to music. I hope my response and disappointment will reach, through you, whoever needs it and "wake them up."
