If the license is in a language other than English, we recommend that guests have an International Driving License, together with the license from their own country. For translation purposes, an International Driver's License will ensure ease of use in the United States. Please note that an International License is not valid on its own for driving in the USA. The International License must also be accompanied by a valid driver's license issued in their own country.
If you wish to make any changes to your booking the updated booking will be calculated by using either the original flex rate or the flex rate that is valid at the time of the booking change, depending on whichever rate is higher. There are no exceptions to this rule. The following situations are classified as booking alterations:
- Change of name
- Change to pick-up or drop-off dates
- Change pick-up or drop-off branch location
- Change of RV category
- Change of rate scheme including special rates
If the rate scheme or RV category is changed, it is considered a new booking and cancellation fees may apply to the original booking.
If an amendment is made to the rental dates within 14 days of collection, no refund will be made if the length of hire is shortened (that is; the rental will be charged at the number of nights originally booked). There is no refund for late pick up or early return of RV. A relocation fee may apply if the collection or return location is amended within 14 nights of RV pick up or if notification occurs during the hire.
Change of Drop Off Destination
If the renter wishes to change the drop off destination after the rental has commenced, they first must obtain authorization from the Star RV Head Office.
If the customer wishes to extend the rental whilst on hire, they must first obtain authorization from Star RV
Reservations who will advise of the additional costs. Rental extension is subject to fleet availability. The
extra cost (calculated on the current rate of the day) of an extended rental must be paid by credit card over the telephone or at an Star RV
Branch immediately on confirmation of the rental extension.
Failure to obtain authorization will result in the renter being charged double the nightly gross rental rate.
Change of RV
Should the RV booked be unavailable through unforeseen circumstances, we reserve the right to substitute an alternative RV without prior notification and at no extra cost. This shall not constitute a breach of contract and does not entitle the renter to a refund.

Playa Dust is dried, packed and ground up alkali lake bed dust, specifically from Black Rock Desert, Nevada. It’s an unpopular souvenir from Burning Man that gets into everything. So miniscule are its particles that you’ll be getting them out of whatever you bring for years to come. The interior and exterior of the vehicle will be covered in this fine dust which makes cleaning the vehicle both time consuming and costly. It is your responsibility to return the vehicle in the same condition as it was received. This will mean professionally cleaning the vehicle. To save you the hassle of finding a cleaning company on the return journey and waiting around hours for the vehicle to be cleaned, Apollo is offering the Burning Man Hassle Free Return package which covers your professional cleaning costs and saves you time. If the Burning Man Hassle Free Return package is selected the vehicle must be returned with the black and grey tanks emptied, interior floors swept, rubbish and foreign objects removed and dishes cleaned and stowed.
Labor Day Drop Off
Apollo locations are closed on Monday 2 September 2019, which is Labor Day. For guests who purchase the Burning Man Hassle Free Return package they will have the option of returning their vehicle to the San Francisco branch on Labor Day. Please note there is no refund for early returns. Apollo must be notified on vehicle collection at the latest if you wish to return your vehicle on Labor Day.
Unlimited Generator Package*
Your generator usage while on rent is covered by the unlimited generator package. The generator cannot be used for more than 2 hours at any time. The renter is financially responsible for generator burn outs.
Supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI)
SLI protects you against claims made by a third party for bodily injury and/or property damage sustained as a result of an accident while you are operating a rental vehicle. Please refer to the Zurich SLI product brochure available on vehicle collection for information on this product.

Colorado Road Safety Fee
A surcharge of $2.00 per night (maximum $90.00 per booking) applies to all rentals picking up from the Denver branch.
New Jersey State Rental Security Fee
A surcharge of $5.00 per night (maximum $140.00 per booking) applies to all rentals picking up from the New York branch.
Star RV has partnered with PlatePass to provide electronic tolling for our guests. Save the hassle of stopping for tolls or figuring out how to pay for tollways that have converted to All Electronic Tolling that are covered by PlatePass. Simply add the PlatePass option for $6 per night (max 10 nights) plus toll costs to avoid the hassle.
All RV’s must be winterized when travelling in freezing conditions. As the weather in parts of the USA can be unpredictable, Apollo will winterize their units as the temperatures start to drop into the freezing zone. Once the RV is winterized, no water can be put into the fresh water tank and it cannot be hooked up to the water supply. Therefore, no water is available in the motorhome. RV’s picking up in Denver, Seattle and New York will be winterized from 01 October until 31 April each year.
It is the guests’ responsibility to have the RV winterized while on a trip at their own expense should the weather conditions require. The guest is also financially responsible for having the RV re-winterised on the return trip if the RV was winterized at the time of pick-up. A US$150 re-winterization fee will be charged if the RV is returned non-winterized when the temperature is 32 degrees Fahrenheit or below.
The guest will be fully responsible for any damages to the plumbing and water systems caused by freezing during their trip.
Mileage - from April 2020

• Unlimited miles package US$1207. for up to 21 nights, then an additional US$57 per night thereafter.

Powered Site Bookings
Powered Sites can be difficult to manage during high season. We recommend your clients make a reservation for at least a 33ft RV, irrespective as to the size of the motorhome reserved, to avoid problems due to possible upgrades.
Limit of Liability
If, for any reason beyond the company's control, the reserved vehicle is not available, Apollo reserves the right to substitute a vehicle of equivalent value or offer a higher rated vehicle at no additional cost. Should a lower rated vehicle be substituted, the company's only responsibility is to refund the difference between the two vehicles. Although this is infrequent, accidents or mechanical repairs may force substitutions.
We reserve the right to refuse any rental at our discretion.
